AQ is Israel’s ally? Israeli interesting.

Almost as bad as the Dissident Right’s pathetic love affair with shitty minority-led Syrian governments that regularly get their ass kicked by Israel, just because they are backed by the Kremlin, which has also sold them crappy air defence systems.

Great article Keith. Your book has been great so far. 2 minor typos slipped through, but top notch

Great article Keith. It would cool to see you have a conversation with someone like T777 about the developments in Syria.

Grammar issue (U.S. MSM origin):

"...ran" or "...has run".

Can't be both.

I also don’t understand why the Assad regime was so anti-Israel. Can anyone explain this? Why wouldn’t they seek an anti-Sunni alliance?

Truly terrible article as usual Woods. Nothing in your first section to any degree proves that Israel supported extreme jihadis AT ALL much less that they have a 'love affair' with them. I know 'moderate rebels' are a meme, but it is a fact that the Syrian conflict is multifaceted and not all rebel forces are extremist. The only two pieces of concrete evidence you provide are that among the civilians medically treated by Israel, some were al Nusra; and that one think tank stated that the defeat of ISIS was not a priority for Israel if it strengthens the Axis of Resistance. The first is totally not adequate as evidence, the latter is obvious and not a mystery, anybody could've told you that with a basic primer of Israeli strategic objectives. As for the second section, it's clownish, two randos saying 'thanks' to Israel for unwittingly weakening Assad while fighting Hizbollah does not constitute evidence that jihadis love Jews. In any case, the article literally does not address the completely obvious point that Israel EXPLICITLY DOES NOT WANT Assad to collapse despite some Israeli opining it sometimes, unlike the US. That is its policy.

Clumsy pieces like this is probably why you're not getting the recognition that serious young conservative journalists with Irish ties are getting like Michael Murphy.
