Well written and interesting. I would note the so called Neoliberal Era actually began before Thatcher, in the latter 1970s under the Callaghan government. And all of this has been able to happen due to the necessary enablement of the de-democratization the UK undertook via the centralization of government decision making which along the economic centralization, greatly increased the power of some special interest groups, especially Big Finance, in the nations political economy; and another huge mention there is the transformation of the parties, particularly labor, from being partially decentralized mass-member parties into being centrally managed and member-exclusive parties.
It won't work to keep lamenting the form of pathological altruism which invites invaders, when a different aspect of the same social dynamic forces the approval of surreal levels of mass murder in Ukraine.
